How did GoodNewsSoutheast get started?

It all began one evening when my wife and I were in the kitchen cooking. In the background, we had the local news on. It seemed like 75% of the stories were about something bad happening, or sad. That's when my wife told me to find something else on.

That's when it hit me. We need something positive and uplifting. Just good news for a change. Now, I know that the news stations report on a various number of stories, and I am not putting them down in any way. My mind started ticking and thoughts were bouncing all around in my head. Let's give the people in the different cities and communities throughout the southeast a way to share whatever good news they may have experienced. Things like a simple Thank You to the grocery store employee who got the item off the top shelf for me, or a community hero, a life announcement (wedding anniversary, baby born) or a random act of kindness.

We really hope everyone will enjoy reading the 'good news'. Our commitment is to give back to the communities once this site gets going and growing.
